you all to “Christmas and Palestine” at Vilanova i la Geltrú
townsquare on Friday December 23rd at 8.00 p.m.

We
will
wall off the Town Hall square Christmas Crib with a fake
carton wall for a quart of an hour to make people know that
as we speak the old path from Jerusalem to Bethleem. An
address will be read out and handed around to explain how
things are in Palestine.

It
is our intention to remind the Catalan society that the
state of Israel is engaged in the building of a wall around
most of the Palestinian cities and towns of the West Bank
under the claim of preventing armed attacks on Israeli
objectives. The main purpose is quite another though: to
speed up the seizure of as much land as possible for Jewish-only
settlements in a blatant breach of the Road Map peace plan.
At the same time it is instrumental in turning the
Palestinian areas into impoverished cheap labour
reservations and captive markets utterly dependent on
Israeli interests.

This
alone makes clear the irrelevance of peace-supporting
endeavours such as the November “Match for Peace” where
Israeli and Palestinian assumptions are shamefully
considered on the same footing.

|
|
There
is instead a need for a much stronger pressure to force
Israel into abiding international law. Today again we call
upon the Catalan people and institutions to educate
themselves on the historical background and present
development of the conflict and to take an unreserved and
overt stance in favour of the Palestinian people’s cause
and act accordingly.

|
This
will also be the time for us to make our position be known
about the Israeli Occupation Forces' assault on Garraf
attorney Anna-Maria Llamazares, ISM activist on Friday December
at Bil’in.

|
|
|
|
The
protest act will be performed at Sant Boi, Barcelona,
Vilanova i la Geltrú and Girona at the same time.
