WHAT
"PALESTINA RESISTEIX" STANDS FOR
|

“PALESTINA RESISTEIX” (pronounced [palus'teena
rayzis'teish]) was formed in April 2003 when a group of youths undertook
to speak out for the Palestinian people in our Garraf district. This
entails:

to spread the truth about the history and
present aspects of the conflict:
|
|
|
|
|
talks, debates, exhibitions, books, leaflets,
website, etc.;
|
|
|
|
|
|
to get the Catalan citizenry and institutions to stand
overtly and unreservedly in favour of the Palestinian people and to demand
the isolation of the state of Israel:
|
|
|
|
demonstrations, rallies, petitions, lobbying, etc.;
|
|
|
to build bridges between the Catalan and Palestinian
communities:
|
|
|
|
trips, youth penfriending, advertising the Palestinian
culture, selling Palestinian products;
|
|
|
to provide material support to Palestinian people:
|
|
|
|
school and medicine supplies, collecting funds to
support humanitarian projects, etc.
|
|
Many of our members have visited Palestine and more
plan to do so in the future.
|
|
Palestina Resisteix
is a member of the Xarxa
d'Enllaç amb Palestina (linking
network with Palestine), whose task is to coordinate and boost action
for Palestine in this country.
|
|
We
meet every fortnight, leads and joins unity
acts and demonstration in support to the Palestinian cause.
|
|
We are linked to no political organisation and we
welcome whoever, inspired by the universal democratic standards -
antiimperialism, antiracism and antisectarianism, wishes to support a
solution to the conflict based upon the Palestinian people's right to self-determination.
